Get Rid Of Fish Smell On Hands

    I stumbled on to a product that works great for me. My daughter got it for my wife. It is made by Bath and Body Works in Reynoldsburg, Ohio 1-800-395-1001. Shop 24/7 at www.bathand bodyworks.com. The name of the product is Orchard, Honeycrisp Apple & Buttered Rum. It has a great smell if you don't mind smelling a little "fruity". It only takes about 1/8 inch squeeze. Let me know how you like it.

    Fish Odor Clean. I bought a gallon of this stuff years ago and it does work and doesn't find every little cut like lemon juice does! Nor does it leave any of it's smell behind. However, you have to kinda rub it in and let it do it's thing a minute or two and repeat before using Dawn or your regular hand cleaner. I'm not fond of any smells on my hands when I go to eat, except lemon and lemon juice does work but again - watch for any cuts! Toothpaste masked the smell for a bit. Remember, I was full time doing fish only for years so I had to figure out how to get that stank off my hands! PS Never tried salt, but I suspect it's very abrasive. Lava soap or Orange Citrus is also abrasive but probably not as bad as straight salt???

    • They make a stainless steel soap bar that was recommended by a chef. Works great.

    I think that "steel" bar was actually Nickel .. and yes, it works.

    I prefer to keep the smell off my hands, nitrile gloves work for me.

    Me too - but inevitably you blow a hole or two through them and it actually makes it worse when the stank gets trapped! I couldn't double them up like some do though. Had good, thick Nitriles too. It's just really easy to pop a hole with knives and scalpels and fish teeth and spiny dorsals constantly trying to mess with ya!!!

    Wash with Diesel fuel or rub your hands with dog crap gets rid of the fish smell too - ha!

    Looked it up and , nope, it is stainless steel. It reacts with the sulfur compounds creating the stink. So, sans metal bar, scrub up with a fork, knife or spoon that it stainless .. or rub your hands over the divider of your double stainless sink.

    The stainless steel soap bar dose not work well in me opinion. I ordered a fish cleaning station from sportsman. LOVE THOSE GUYS! ;-) But for real I am a member. Lol I shrimp also so tend to deal with fish and shrimp. Lol I think you might like the salt. Get hands wet pore a good but not overwhelming amount on hand. Rub around like lotion. Then rinse..
