How's everyone been doing as far as deer brought in to there shop, been dead here in northern Illinois for me so far. Don't know if the crazy weather is the reason,it was in the sixties last week end, hope the shot gun season and cool weather help.

The deer have been in a pre- rut stage down here for over a week running does and snort wheezing at inferior bucks trying to join the chase. Another week to 10 days they should be in rut proper. My son shot a nice 8 point behind the house last week with his bow but lost him. ( 75 yards from our back door) Temps are slowly going down in the 50's at night. Lots of night movement in my trail cams.

  3. Skinning #14 this morning long way to go to get my 100. 90% of mine come from bow. Gun season not what it used to be round here

Of course bow season has only been open since October 1st . September 15th for Wisconsin. And, between the warm temps and tons of rain earlier in the month. And, then cooler temps but very windy almost every day since. Combined with deer still in pre-rut - and still a ton of crops in the fields, I can see why not many deer have come in! Hunting weather has been awful!

Since Sept 7th until now almost everyday 1 to 7 deer were dropped off. Rut just started 3 days ago, it's going to be very good this week. Many guys texted me that lots of deer activity just started. Hopefully you guys be more successful in the coming week.
