Beetle Pen, Extra Bugs?

    I just bought a new batch of beetles a few months ago, placed them in a separate aquarium and now in the bottom of the bedding are these bugs. They don’t move much, is this a stage of the dermestid?

    Working. Yep. Baby dermestid larva. Real young ones will be white. As they age, they will darken and brown up. They will shed several times and get larger before they turn into beetles.

    PA you could have given them the whole morphological rundown with instar stages and illustrations. :)

    I could have, but why re-iterate what is available in publications. The best work:

    A classic work on the life cycle of dermestid beetles and tips on maintaining a colony and cleaning skeletons.
