Pretty Cool .... The one I mounted had to have been a second generation because it still looked like a Greenhead but had Silver hi lites .... It looked better after I groomed it but didn't take any pics .. This one was killed in the wild and not a pin raised bird so who knows ... Wish it wasn't in such horrible shape when I got it ... it was Just tossed in a freezer no bag nothing , for about 7 yrs ... Had to soak it for 3 days before I could skin it .... Usually when you start with a turd ...... You end with a turd ..... ( mine of coarse )
Wild shot silver phase
Dang y'all getting some nice oddball birds!
Nice lines on the head, very clean bird.
First time I remember you posting anything but waterfowl Brooke! Looks great.
Yeah Vic, I get about 4-6 pheasants a year.
Black birds matter.
Always superb work Brooke! Keep posting.
Wish I knew why the computer just shows an "x" on a lot of photos when my other one (belongs to my school district) will show the photo. Anyone know why?
Already have posted pics of him on BOTM, but since I posted pics of the skin on here, I’ll post pics of him mounted.
And thanks to all of you for posting such eye candy. It's such a pleasure to see such artistry.
Ok, there’s kind of a problem with my blue eared pheasant. There is a smell coming from the wings. Have no idea if it’s his natural smell or if I missed pieces of meat in the wings somewhere. He did always have a slightly funky smell to him. If it is rot, what should I do? I don’t feel like completely unstitching him and going back into the wing. Maybe make a small cut in the wing and clean the rest of it out. But, the thing is, I don’t really know if it is actually rot. And if there is no way to get it out if it is rot, will the smell eventually go away?
