Been while since I have mounted a fish. I have always bought the heads or casted them. Wondering if anyone had tip or good video on cleaning fish head using the real one

Salmonoids use a repo, can be done with real head but too much dang shrinkage
Bass bream crappie Ect clean ALL meet and fat out
Do not forget the meet on backside of gill flaps, especially on large bass

I once placed a crappie head on top of a fire ant hill and let them clean the meat. It made a perfect reference for the bone structure inside the head and where all the meat should be removed from.

The Stehling Brothers have a great video on skin mount fish. It is in-depth and covers the head process completely. You can buy the download video from their Taxidermy Insider website. You can also join Taxidermy Insider and access all of their training videos. I have been a member for a few months and havent watched all of the videos available!

Not much meat in their head. Your main challenge will be skinning them without tearing them up.
