I don't drink....I study history, and politics and stoic philosophy because it promotes "thinking"! And as far as thinking that I have to "save the taxinet world" it was not I trying to save it from "stupid, dumb" people.....just sayin!
But if you have a philosophical disagreement with something specific I said, if you will address it directly, I would be glad to debate it with you!

For some reason you want to debate with everyone, not sure if your trying to convince yourself how smart you are or if your just as crazy as Joe , I’ll say this last thing before I put you on my ignore list , it will be a cold day in Hell before I let anyone take my guns , if this was any other time I would agree with most your stating , that said we are in a pandemic and for some reason you feel not to believe it . Sounds like your the one that is delusional and have trust issues, every one is out to get you and yours maybe just maybe they are trying to help you from not catching this and DIEING , just maybe

In every decade there is a deadly pandemic. In every century there are many pandemics. Some more severe than others. In no decade in the last century has our government acted this way and it's all based on computers.

I don't think there is any doubt that the people posting on taxidermy.net believe the government has the responsibility to inform it's citizens of impending danger and give their recommendations on what to do to keep safe. They also have the responsibility to prepare as much as they can so they can react to these dangers. What is in contention here is when the government over stretches their bounds by forcing their citizens to comply with the recommendations, which in a lot of cases tend to go against the constitution. I stay at home and comply with the recommendations and guide lines for my own reasons, in which non of those reasons are because the government is forcing me to do anything. I pretty much have followed the majority of those recommendations for many years during the flu season. I have had the flu twice in 40 years. This isn't about trying to stay safe, it's about government overstepping their bounds.

I have 10 friends and clients that either have or know someone that’s got it , if you total there numbers up it’s well over 50 . In all stages, from mild to deaths. I have never known or had that many people at anytime with the flu . The corona virus has no known enemy’s , so it’s highly contagious and has to run its course, that’s the issue. If the government did nothing then people would be bitching , they do something and people are bitching it’s a no win situation.

    Ron,
'ole 13 points keeps reinforcing the impression that he is just mostly a jabbering fool. But I do detect a certain anxiety in his rhetoric, like some fear people have when they don't know what's coming down the pike which will adversely affect their safety and security. I can understand what fear of the unknown can do to people. Can't always hold that against them. Even I admit to having a low grade fear myself, but mine is because I do know what's coming down the pike. When you compare the views and commentary of the obviously conservative responders on here with 13P's scattered arguments and the way he attacks those whose views he disagrees with, I get the further impression that he has an unshakeable belief that government is our friend. Anyone who would believe that horseshit is the poster boy for a fool.

Since you study history, etc., here's an opinion piece by a well-know Canadian whom Wikipedia claims is a conspiracy theorist. That right there is enough to tell me that the man knows whatof he speaks:

Fake Coronavirus Data, Fear Campaign. Spread of the COVID-19 Infection
    By Prof Michel Chossudovsky
    Global Research
    April 7, 2020

The unspoken truth is that the novel coronavirus provides a pretext to powerful financial interests and corrupt politicians to trigger the entire World into a spiral of mass unemployment, bankruptcy, extreme poverty and despair.

This is the true picture of what is happening. “Planet Lockdown” is an encroachment on civil liberties and the “Right to Life”. Entire national economies are in jeopardy. In some countries martial law has been declared.

Small and medium sized capital are slated to be eliminated. Big capital prevails. A massive concentration of corporate wealth is ongoing.

Is a diabolical “New World Order” in the making as suggested by Henry Kissinger (WSJ Opinion, April 3, 2020):

“The Coronavirus Pandemic Will Forever Alter the World Order”.

Recall Kissinger’s historic 1974 statement: “Depopulation should be the highest priority of US foreign policy towards the Third World.” (1974 National Security Council Memorandum)

This crisis is unprecedented in World history. It is destabilizing and destroying people’s lives Worldwide. It’s a “War against Humanity”.

While it is presented to World public opinion as a WHO global health emergency, what is really at stake are the mechanisms of “economic warfare” sustained by fear and intimidation, with devastating consequences.

Debating is how we learn from each other...not by calling people with honest concerns about an over reach of government, dumb, stupid, crazy or calling them drunks if they hold an opposing opinion! If one says such things about someone whom they do not even know, it calls into question their ability to disseminate information!

As for "disseminating information".....no where have I said I do not believe in this pandemic...to the contrary...I have been on the receiving end of it in the past and lost 4 people I know and nearly lost my wife just two years ago as I have stated several times! I am a complete germaphobe!

I simply put things into historical perspective and ask questions as to why we fear death from this, but not death from many other things that are worse in the long run and why we will willingly give up liberty for safety. You simply mistake that for "not believing" or "being stupid" but if you would actually try to understand and answer the question and not take it as something personal I feel you would see what I am saying!

As for "keeping ME from dying"...I do not live my life in fear of that, I live my life in fear of future generations ...mine and others... not having a free country to live in! Within the last century over reaching governments have been the leading cause of death! I have seen no change in human nature that would convince me that wont happen again! So you see...each of our fears can be valid! You fear the here and now and your own death.....I fear the future of humanity and the death of freedom! If that makes me dumb, stupid, or crazy.....then guilty as charged!

Joe....it really doesn't even matter if a "crisis" is man made, or natural, contrived, or just circumstances. Evil, or ill advised people can and will use them to their advantage! It saddens me that so many of my fellow Americans not only don't understand this but actively try to humiliate those of us who want to point this out just as a warning! All I have done is point out historical perspectives and how our government (should) work and I am called "crazy", a drunk" a "high school drop out" ..etc...without once being factually challenged! I saw a pole today where 61% of Americans support jailing those who break these so called shelter in place rules! I see officials promising "rewards for those who turn them in! I see where mayors are vowing to and I quote "Permanently shut down churches that violate the rules)! I can see a time when a mans enemy will be his neighbor if we are not careful!

What do you think the government could have done or should have done to make sure those 50 people didn't receive the effects of covid-19?

  10. 13 point

    13 point Well-Known Member

I have no clue, don’t know how they caught it . Don’t know if they did or didn’t follow the protocol set in place or not . My point in that post was I’ve never known or knew people that knew 50 people having the flu in one year let alone at one time .

The swine flu did the same thing covid-19 has done in four months and Obama's government appointed someone to oversee it and it made the nightly news once or twice a week for a short time all the while thousands, as in over 8,000, of Americans died and tens of thousands died earth wide. There was no social distancing, no shut down of the economy, no stay in your home order, none of this stuff going on now. The government gave the instructions to do the things you normally do to avoid getting the regular flu and your good to go. Why do you think that is?

In Joe's original post, I took it to mean; ask yourself this question and then research why this virus, why now?.

I think that ALL data on covid-19 is skewed from symptoms to how long it lives out side the body in what form to if you can spread it to animals etc. There are a lot of "covid-19 deaths" that are listed as such when in reality some of those didn't actually have it, but died because the hospitals or what ever were unable to help them, hence, they died because of covid-19, not because they had it.

Since no one seems to know what is what, knowing I can't trust the statistics with this virus I choose to stay home, I choose to social distance, I choose to self quarantine if I have something symptomatically similar, everything the government has asked me to do, however, The government has no constitutional right to force me to do these things and that is my point. If the government did have a constitutional right on the other hand, I would not have this point.

  12. 13 point cares so much probaly becuase he is overweight likely has weak immune system from being unhealthy and the worst kind of people are the ones that act like a patriot or served there country but wont care or fight to have our human rights and civil rights .To get back to discussion on how this applies to taxidermy. Right now all non essential busineses in PA arent allowed to work . But we have many taxidermist that are on the board of directors still working but wont put in effort or throw a fit and put something out as an organization to the unjust laws we are under . But behind closed doors they will work to get there customer work done . But wont say anything as an organization against this . I see then posting pictures of work they are doing openly online even though we are under a work ban for non essential businesses .

I'm quite certain that folks are allowed to work by themselves or with household family members in their own business especially if like many it is on their residential property. They are doing nothing wrong here.
Why don't you raise a stink with the state?

    Yo Buck'
There's a reason for everything isn't there? The PTA is typical of likey most taxidermy clubs. When the fit hits the shan, it's every man for himself. There's no fraternity, no sense of community. No, "We're all in this together." It's pretty much like what Montague Brown once wrote with taxidermists in mind; "In art there are no brothers, only rivals."

Of course what I just wrote means nothing to your average fellow PTA member. He wouldn't know Mr. Brown from Tom Wolf. It's so easy for me to show occasional contempt for attitudes like we're seeing expressed up in your state club's hierarchy because I've read the resumes of nominees for office in past elections and I don't recall seeing a single one where the candidate had a platform of any kind period. But any taxidermist up there who does not continue to work would be a fool. OK, for those who are a might touchy about the slightest criticism I'll rephrase that: "Would be foolish."

    3 'bears,
You hit the raw nerve with the phrase, "allowed to work." I know exactly what you mean by it, but if there's one thing all people under our state and federal laws have an inalienable right to do is to work to sustain one's life and family. The very thought that some bastard like a governor or CDC apparatchik declares what is a necessary job and what isn't and that your job isn't and with threat of penalties puts us in fear of our lives and livelihoods, it's time to see to it that he never holds office ever again.

I get it Joe. Poor choice of words on my part. For the life of me, I can't understand how some of them got the job in the first place but as you referred to, they can be fired from said job.

Pardon me 3 bears, they weren't your words. I took you to mean that you were characterizing the current situation. It fries me to think that pigs at the public trough, aka judges, governors, etc. have the gall and the audacity to say who can and can't work and when and at what jobs is criminal, not just unlawful. It's like we need permission from a so-called public servant to earn our daily bread. This really fries me. It's also quite revealing that not one association has made a public statement in support or encouragement of or to its members. I guess my opening post was too scary to touch by all those pretend leaders. Anyway I hate this whole situation and without some kind of unity of purpose from an association leader with some spunk, like I said, ya'all are on your own.

  20. Screenshot_20200408-183628_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20200408-183752_Office Mobile.jpg well actually three bears heres what's from the website . On the header on top . Dedicated to the Pennsylvania taxidermist since 1979 .with what is going on now I do not see any dedication or care from the organization. DOES ANYONE ELSE . And to your point I will give you this, read their purpose statement it states that they are there to advise and assist its members in laws and regulations . In my eyes and head and I'm sure many others would see and believe that they need to change there name to a more representative name . The Pennsylvania taxidermy convention club . Or as joe says the art club. Be more real and not hide behind a name .I can call my self a prophet but I also could only predict sure things such as the earth will still rotate and taxes will be collected . Here is the second definition of association

a connection or cooperative link between people or organizations

I do not see that at all . I see no cooperation or connection to the government or the taxidermist . I only see connections to the collective circle jerk of the whole convention crowd . Not of the working taxidermist. This post has been up for a few days and there is not one board member or president to dispute or say anything on this virus and the unjust laws we are under and how it needs to end .it is the duty and job of taxidermy associations to stand up for its members ,like the NRA does to look out for the best of its group and industry
