I Cut down a rubbed up tree I watched this years buck make. The color of the rub has faded from a fresh shredded yellowish orange to a dull tan and grey since October. I plan to use the tree as a pedestal base as it has a beautiful sprawling root
Ball. I’m looking for some suggestions to bring the vibrance back into the rub and preserve it .

I have used airbrush paints and clear matte sealer with success.

X2 to using an airbrush, just lay your color down as a very light dusting or it’s going to look exactly how you don’t want it to look, like a weird piece of overly painted wood.
