If you live in the speedee service delivery area (which fortunately I do)there’s a way to circumvent the shipping cost. If you notice that the product is shipped from NC,PA,or anywhere that Speedee doesn’t service, request for it to be sent to the Janesville facility here in Wisconsin. They won’t charge you to ship it to Janesville and they’ll ship your entire order from the Janesville facility under Speedee’s rates.(which are outstanding) When you place your order online in the notes section just write “ship speedee if possible” In most cases they will contact you saying they can send it from “X”facility to a facility in speedee area it just might take a week or two to get it.It may take a little longer to get your order but you won’t get raped as hard in the shipping cost.I started doing this after I bought a base for $80 and it Cost $95 to ship.I added the cost for the base and what I thought was a reasonable amount for shipping on the clients bill, but I ended up taking a hit because the shipping was so high.
I understand the argument that your customer pays for your cost To ship but in these cases you can’t calculate the cost until you look at your bill of lading.Hope this can help some of you guys that live out in the Midwest

Shop rate times number of hours plus services and supplies at a mark up and estimated shipping based on McKenzie rates. Panels, bases and such extra with the mark up and estimated shipping cost. I charged each item as if I purchased just that item and the shipping it would cost for just that one item.

pir^2h Retrievers give you the bird

They will get around it by calling it a "Handling Charge." Which is bullcrap.

We can give all the reasons we want for shopping at Matuska, but we all know it's for the piece of candy you get with your order.

trappersteph now you can have it...

I had a huge box sent FedEx from research mannikins OR location. Lifesize bear was cut in 3 peices in the box, plus a fox form and some supplies. 52.00 shipping. I am on the east coast. It would probably have been 150 for shipping from McKenzie in PA lol.

I am rather new as well. I feel thankfull to know of atleast 2 supply stores near me. Business is not booming yet because of my shop being new. Though I know my name will get out there soon. So I too freaked when I seen shipping for my ducks. Not bringing in the big bucks yet. So drained my pocket. Glad I'm not the only one who has had a cow.
