It has been a long road, folks. I'm happy to announce that BIG FUR, starring Ken Walker and some other folks who frequent this forum, will have its digital premiere on August 11th. You can pre-order on Apple TV (this helps position the movie for suggestions to other users and gives it a more prominent position, or so I'm told) and it will be available to buy or rent on several other platforms. You can go to this link to pre-order. On Tuesday the 11th, the same link will give you other options for download – like Amazon, Fandango, Microsoft, Vudu, Vimeo, and a bunch of others.

Making an independent documentary is not a very lucrative business. It is more a labor of love, or perhaps lunacy. Either way, please consider purchasing or renting it next week. It also helps tremendously if you share on social media and even write a review on whatever platform you get it from. We are on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter.

In a month or so, I'll have DVDs, Blu-rays, t-shirts and hats available for purchase on my website.

I set out to make a movie about taxidermy as an under-appreciated art form. And it all started on this forum. Then I met Ken and things went, um, haywire. I learned a lot (about taxidermy and Bigfoot), made a ton of friends, spent all my money and had a lot of fun. It is important to me that taxidermists like the movie and I felt pretty good about that when we premiered at last year's World Show.

People always ask, will it be on Netflix? I don't know. The big subscription streamers like them and Amazon Prime are not buying much right now and not paying hardly anything. If/when it does become available on one of those, I will let the forum know.

I still do a little taxidermy as a hobby and frequent the forum, but not as much as I used to. If you ever need anything or have questions, it's best to contact me through the movie's website, https://www.bigfurmovie.com/

My sincerest thanks and gratitude for all the love, support and knowledge I've received form this forum. It is a unique and special place. It's been a fun ride and I hope the next project allows me to meet as many brilliant and generous people as I have here. Time will tell.

    Thanks, Dan (Allie)

I have mixed feelings on this, but should reserve judgement until I've seen it.

Taxidermy is seen as a fringe group, and now you throw Big Foot in the mix?

Allie you are obviously a good film maker I'd love to see you do a proper accurate documentary about Taxidermy. There are some very talented people in our industry, former museum taxidermists, part timers , full timers, very successful business men. There is a whole gamut of information and history that would make a very interesting, serious full length documentary. It doesn't have to always be goofy or macabre it is a very interesting art-craft when you see the real workings of what goes on in the start to finish process.
