Vintage Green Sea Turtle

  1. Bought for my university museum just for $58. One flipper is broken. They were imported a lot into Soviet Union from Cuba. It has a thick layer of lacquer which I want to remove, should I use acetone?

i personally wouldn't try to remove it. It just may cause more harm than good.

  3. A head of Hawksbill turtle bought for $20. After X-ray, I'll decide whether to clean the skull or to leave as is (with new eyes maybe)

Nice find. Looks like it was removed from a full mount like your first post. You could possibly rehydrate around the eyes and put in correct eyes and pin it together to dry. I have shells but have yet to come across a full mounted one.

  5. I'm also getting a whole juvenile hawksbill, in exchange for emu skull

I like that little guy. The eye positively needs to be fixed. That is just soooo wrong.
