Who would even think of doing this to a mount?

Somebody trying to cross into the supposed "fine art" realm I guess - lol. Just because they're asking that much doesn't mean they're selling any!

George She is a “artist” not a taxidermist that can’t get “that” price in his area. His area being the circumference of his head. He can’t charge “that” price (what ever it is) because he wouldn’t want to pay that / those prices for his work. Give her credit for creating a market for all those deer heads nobody wants. Almost forgot, she is not dealing with Joe Hunter with the $40,000.00 pickup either.

No she is dealing with a mount that wasn’t intended for what she is doing to it . That said , I can’t wait for those painted mounts ( and it’s going to happen to some ) get infested with bugs and mites , and the hair starts falling out of her so called art work and the collectors either sue her or even they loose there azz for buying something awful in the first place . Sorry just how I feel . Disrespectful to the animals and mounts. I hate it when I see woman decorating deer heads for Christmas , and believe me I tell them so when I see it.

I think it's funny women give me a hard time about how my house is decorated. It's decorated in well done mounts with habitats appropriate for their species. They are in every room and on pretty much every wall. I would never consider painting one of my mounts and certainly not for a holiday.

The point is, she is getting commissioned for work and has write-ups in Home and Garden and a couple of other publications. She has clients paying her. Don't be afraid to price your Taxidermy to make a profit. I see a taxidermist on google advertising shoulder mounts for $350... go figure!

If she sells 2 of those she will have made what 2/3 of the taxidermists in America make in a year and she only had to work probably 1 week to get it. Like it or not, she isn't afraid to price what she thinks it's worth and she will get that every time.

Heck, it ain't my cup of tea, but I just had to buy 2 of them.

I was in a art gallery in California and there was a store mannikin of a lifesize woman covered in colored condoms head to toe. It had a thousands of dollar price tag on it and a sold sign. Preception outsells reality every day. How else could marketers get you to buy and pay for bottled water? And you do. 99.9 percent of taxidermists will never get it and they also do not want to.

We need this women to do a business seminar at the next big taxidermy show ! But then again the taxidermy “ industry” probably can’t afford it as most work for below current minimum wage with NO benefits and don’t support the industry , anti animal rights groups or anti gun groups.

I wonder how many taxidermists will raise their prices after Biden makes 15 buck an hour minimum wage? Not many is my bet. Some business owner taxidermists even voted for him which proves how stupid they are.
