What is the best -clay,-“primer” as some call it and-glue
Be more in detail
I need to know the names of the best type of clay for molding around the eyes and vane work, heard that some people like to use a type of primer then put glue on as the set the hide and need to know the names of them
Critter clay and Pro 1 hide paste
and you don’t add for vain work you should use what is already on the form , you just in hanse it by detailing the form (sanding) the edges so they stand higher if that makes sense , and work and pressing the details as the mount dries . You only want the vaining noticeable at a distance not lumps and bumps on the form
Thanks you!! So with the hide paste you just put a coat on then the hide and that’s it?
Yes as far as materials go , but you have to work it every day , as it dries . See my tutorial on Bagging your mounts .
You also need to use a stout ruffer on the form so the glue can hold to the form otherwise the hide paste is worthless
