Blue Ducks At The Beam Museum

    Greetings Ken,
    Not to burst your bubble but there are many museums outside of New Zealand who have blue ducks. Many are not taxidermy mounts, but some are, or were. The Carnegie has three Hymenolaimus malacorhynchos malacorhynchos that we purchased well over 100 years ago from Sir Walter Lawry Buller who wrote the book A History of the Birds of New Zealand. Other museums in North America to have blue ducks:
    Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University - 8
    National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution - 6
    Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto - 2
    University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute - 1
    Humboldt State University Wildlife Museum - 1
    Yale Peabody Museum - 1

    and there are over a dozen in in Europe
