Slipping Twisted Horns

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by Leland, Nov 24, 2020.

  1. Sometimes when impala etc and other antelope come from Africa the horns won’t come off. They have been boiled but are twisted and won’t come completely off will a Lechwe be the same. Thanks

    I've seen them both ways.

While I’ve not done a huge amount of African game, a few pieces every year, I have only had one set of horns that I could not get off and that was early on. I think the spiraled horns are a bit more difficult and the lechwe should be easier. It’s a question of hydrating the length of the horns well enough to get them off.
