I have 27.5% soft swim pool chemical. I would like to dilute it to 40 volume peroxide. Wondering what the mix ratio would be with distilled water ?

Why do you want to dilute it? Peroxide is a very unstable chemical, and diluting it makes it weaker faster. If memory serves me correct, 40 volume peroxide is a 12% solution. By ratio and proportion, to make a 27.5% solution a 12% solution, you would add 2.3 gallons of DISTILLED water to each gallon of 27.5% peroxide. Only dilute the amount you plan to use at any given time at the rate of 2.3:1

You do not dilute it. You use it straight.
