I have a couple to do it all makes sense. Jumping in the deep end. I take it you wire them then insert them into the form adjust on whatever they're sitting on or position while flying. Inject let them dry and paint? From there I can figure it out.

Wildthings thanks for the info. I'm not to old to change the way I've been doing things. No paint on feathers will be one less things to worry about.

DBD09C4B-9A17-4A6D-A645-EAB402215D97.jpeg Another Canada. I can understand why many folks don’t like them, but I do them anyway. The taxidermist down the road brings his to me because he despises them. My biggest challenge with them is making the feathers under the wing cooperate. I just mounted another one yesterday and managed to get them a little better. Does anyone have a tip for making the underside of the wing look good? I do an underwing incision and rebuild the muscle.
    Blessings,
    Wally

If your doing them cupped like that, do an overwing incision. That way it will be on the wall side.

Groom and tape em in place. I invert my wings other than the wrist area on big birds I'll open it up to clean the meat out.

Finally got to mount a bird this afternoon, a pinfeathered shot to hell, dare I say it, a black duck. Now don't label me a racist, it's the only name I know for this species of duck PXL_20210524_214049748.PORTRAIT.jpg in

Brooke you sure do get some beautiful fully primed ducks down your way. The only way we see ducks like that in Michigan is in the spring. Great Can
