Those breast feathers on that turkey were very well done!
First ever major repair. Severed head/neck reattachment on a ruffed grouse. Both wing bones shattered at shoulder as well and a long tear in skin of left wing. Gotta love 22 hollowpoints and what they do to uplands . Happy with how the repair turned out though. It was a gamble that played out!

Turkey looks good!
Need to paint the head, tighten a few feathers up, and he's ready to go.

Do you put the beard on last or is it there and can't see it in the picture? Really have the breast shingling down T Slayer beautiful bird!

I put the beard on last. Just keeps it out of the way during the grooming and all.
Trying to get the skills back after 40 odd years. Started out right away with a Cormorant-feather-disaster (could fill a pillow with the left-overs). Herring Gull will be in a harbour tableau with some other gulls. Juvenile Grey Herron was rather dammaged as roadkill, but turned out ok...
