This is a first for us...we use maceration...what are the tricks to doing this right?
Do the horns need to come off? If so, how?
Are cow skulls real greazy? Should I just degrease like a whitetail skull...heated dawn and ammonia?
What all do I need to know?
    Thanks

What you can do is to first take a good knife and cut all the connective tissue from around the horn bases. Run the knife up under the edge of the horn bases to as there is tissue there holding them on too. Use the Search on here for the rest. It has been discussed a million times. Try cow skull horn removal, horn removal, horn removing, etc. Search only in the Skulls and Skeletons section and you will find a lot of posts detailing how to do it.
