I read an article a number of years ago about using the real tongue for an open mouth mount. I remember the author was using a Mt. Lion tongue, and basically skinned it, fleshed it good, and then submerged it in denatured alcohol (if memory serves correct), and then glued it to an artificial tongue. Anyone else remember the article or details? I want to do an open mouth mount on a small mammal with its tongue wrapped around a small fruit.

I believe the Breakthrough article was by Rick Carter. I think he molded and cast the real tongue to get the custom shape, then skinned and treated the tongue skin and glued it onto the tongue form. I hope he chimes in. If not, send him a message.
