Potbelly Pigs

  1. Got 2 males for free, about 1 meter long. They died several days after mating.
What's better to do with costal cartilage if I want to preserve it - cut along edge of sternum or cut at ends of ribs' bony part and beetle clean all the cartilage with sternum as one piece?

I am currently working on a red kangaroo. I removed the cartilage all in one piece. Cleaned by hand and am attempting to freeze dry it in the proper position to install later.

  4. Were the ends of ribs damaged after cutting cartilage? And have you found clavicles?

I was careful not to damage the rib ends. The bone there is actually quite soft it seemed. Did not find clavicles yet. I have not sorted all the smaller bones just yet. It was macerated so they should be there.

  6. I'll dry & later beetle clean the carcasses except hooves that would be macerated.
