Softening Alligator Hide

    Hey you, friends! So, a friend of mine brought me an amazing gift today, it's a lot of pieces of alligator hides. The problem is, it is so dry, but SO DRY, that it seems like wooden boards. Could anybody help me finding a way to soft it?

    We need to know if they were tanned or just dried to aid you.
    Personally i would send it to a tannery where they will assess it and then either tan or hydrate, oil and break
