I have a very stained white fallow coming up and was looking for something to get the blood stains out. Anyone ever use Van Clean from Mckenzies? Or have any other suggestions?

    Thanks

Is it tanned ? Make a salt brine and let it soak . If not flesh salt for one night , then put in a salt heavy brine and agitate for bout 2 hours , that should pull most if not all the blood out of it , rinse in cold water , squeeze water out best you can , then put in pickle , and proceed tanning as normal . After either way , wash in cold water with dawn and big squirt of tide detergent. You should be good to go , that’s what works for me .

Then soak in a brine 1/2 cup per gal , that’s really over kill but better safe then sorry , let it soak good hour . Then slosh around and agitate it for a bit . Now wash like I said . That should do it .
