Velvet Antler Tan

    does this velvet antler tan stuff work alright? says to pierce the soft velvet, then inject heaps from the coronet end,, then coat the antlers..

    any one done it an recomend it?

    would it work for me little spike hoggie?

    I haven't tried the velvet tan product. But I have had good success using the same technique you describe but using denatured alcohol. After piercing small holes, I soak in the alcohol until any fluid coming from antlers is clear and then hang to dry. If the core of the antlers is still soft, you will have some shrinkage, but I suspect that would be the case with the tan as well.

    Yes It will work but the antler has to be fully formed and hard under the velvet.
