This year I had 2 bucks brought in where one side of the rack was pulled off when they were being dragged out , this will also work for a dropped rack deer . Both these deer had an infection at the pedestal base and skull . Boy did the stink lol . Ok , I let the skull dry completely before repairing. If it is a mount I cut the skull to fit the form before I fix , that way I know I don’t have to worry bout hitting the lag when cutting to fit as it’s already done . I make sure the antler fits back into skull, trimming or brushing till it does, most the time when it pulls out like that , it will fit back together like a puzzle, locking in place kinda . Now mix up some 5 min epoxy and apply it liberally all over both sides . Put back together and hold till it kicks off . Ok your done mount away lol just kidding . Sometimes there are chunks of bone missing , fill them with more 5 min epoxy. Let that dry for 15-20 or so . I use a 3 -4inch deck lag , get the proper drill bit to fit lag , now drill up thru skull plate into antler, being careful not to go thru side of Antler, make sure you drill 1/2 deeper then lag is long . Don’t bury it , your just threading it . Get a big as washer as will fit into skull and bend it to contour skull . Mix up more 5 min epoxy and pour into drilled hole , put washer in place and run lag back in till it tight . Now your done . It is very strong , you can mount the deer and carry it by that side with no issues 92B1899C-511C-40BB-9F35-735945D2CD16.jpeg F9757C7C-EDB3-4E37-A57B-DB555A1355EA.jpeg 8AC196D3-C9BB-48D3-B27F-C05586D18D5F.jpeg 03EEAAE7-3F69-4840-8D4B-D5B08439B1CE.jpeg B39915F3-7263-4C37-A350-63EDBDF07639.jpeg
