I'm curious what gauge wire one would recommend for building forms for groundhogs and rabbits. I was going to carve the head of the animal and then use excelsior and cotton for the wrapped form for the rest. The gauges I have right now are appropriate for starlings, but for groundhogs/cottontails I'm guessing I'd need something a lot thicker to work with...

That will work on the small mammals.

Would I need a larger size for striped skunks and (gray and red) foxes or should that work for them as well?

I wouldn’t use annealed wire but stiff would be better
