I case skinned a squirrel hide and tanned it. I don't think I fleshed it perfectly because it's not breaking in well. It's pretty stiff and stayed super narrow. In some spots where I fleshed it very well it has become soft and pliable. How can I break in and stretch out the rest of the hide?

Rehydrate, ( gallon of water, 4 oz salt little bit of water softener) sponge that on the flesh side to soften the skin up. Then reapply oil then when its about 85% dry begin to break.

When you say reapply oil do you mean the same tanning oil I used? Or like a leather oil?
