Repo Fish And Taxidermy License Question

    To those who do only reproduction fish for sale on line or for commission is a taxidermy license needed in your state? Thanks Ed

    Not in VA. Unless you are making your own blanks.

    No properly not in any state as that’s not considered taxidermy. I help change that rule here in PA yrs ago when we had to take a test. I posed the issue of what about any ceramic place, graphite etc do they need to take a test? They do fakes! The rules got changed.
    Some consider it if your casting the fish cause your then taxing the skin to make the mold but just buying one needs no license just a business and sales tax license.

    In Arizona if you receive a fish into your shop and make a mold of that fish and a cast of that fish .... then yes, you need a taxidermy license.

    In Arizona if you buy a blank you do NOT need a taxidermy license as no specimen was brought into your shop.
