My daughter in laws Uncle sent this to me. In 1949 he was graduating High School and had been working for a taxidermist making forms. He was small enough to crawl inside the plaster of Paris molds and layer in strips of glued paper.
He mailed a letter to Leon Pray about his ambitions and Leon was kind enough to respond with a full page handwritten letter. His advice was the same as taxidermists give to young people today. Go to college and after that then decide what to do. He suggested it was best to do it as a hobby.
Also he sent a copy of a popular mechanics article on how to mount a deer by William Moyer and another one on how to mount a fish by John Moyer.
Of course there was the J W Elwood course and Lessons on Furcraft.
