I just mounted a Cackler and on the top of the head where the skin would normally be glued at the bill junction, the skin was freezer burnt and disintegrated during the wheeling process. Now I'm left with about a half inch of the artificial head showing from the point of the "V" past the back end, almost to the eye bulge. Any recommendations for repairs? I was considering using black Apoxie Sculpt and texturing it, to at least make it visually appealing from a distance. I'm open to other suggestions for better options.

Black fly tying dubbing. Vast number of natural colors made from a variety of animal under fur.

Do you cut it up and sprinkle it on like flocking?
