I just talked to my brother in Placer County CA and said that he heard that all California national forests will be closed starting tomorrow because of fires and possible fire danger. That has got to be bad news for California taxidermists.

Nah not true, only specific ones in the northern part of the state. We burn a lot here and it’s just something we deal with. Last year was the worst by far for closures. It had an impact on the amount of deer I got in, but I had an increase in everything else oddly enough. Forest fires are a necessary evil in my opinion.

    ALL of them.

I have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all (California) National Forests in order to better provide public and firefighter safety due to extreme fire conditions throughout the state, and strained firefighting resources throughout the country,” California's regional forester, Jennifer M. Eberlien, said ..
