Pads On Bear And Badger Pealing

    2nd time this has happened. First time in a bear. Now a badger . The paw pads are pealing off. It shows up in the tanning process. Any thoughts

    Happens a lot as the way the animals were taken care of, hydrated to long can cause these minor problems.

    Like the salt wasn’t put into the pads good enough are ya thinking an didn’t drain right?

    Though salting is a great preventative it only puts the bacteria to sleep and stops it’s growth. Damage could have happen prior to you getting it or as I said over hydration will loosen the covering and a lot of times you’ll never know till the tanning process is done.
