I get they make money on there shipping, I get there a business. But when you ask they lie and say they don’t . If they would just man up and tell the truth I would respect them a whole lot more.

When I had my taxidermy business, The shipping costs didn't bother me. When I retired and started to do it just for myself, the shipping costs about make me cry. I have no one to pass it on to.

Larry, I've been in business for 44 years, an mostly ordered from them. THEY HAVE FINALLY CRAPPED IN THERE MESS KIT. I am 2 hours from there plant in Caldwell, they charged me $100.00 for a 28" elk. normally they would cut it, but no, it came in a huge box. It also was shipped from NC. and to add to this they shipped the eyes separately, oh, but they took my money, now I have to fuss with them. NOTE to myself, they are not the only supply company out there.

My guess is that 5% increase UPS is putting in will only be temporary. They will raise it again on top of that in about three months! As a hobbyist shipping is killing me. My last order was almost $2,000.00. I went to NC to pick it up. Less than a $100.00 on gas and I was on summer break so it wasn't no big deal. With what I was getting (rock panels another big items) I figure I saved at least 200 - 300 bucks in shipping. Maybe more than that for all I know. I asked for a truck quote and they told me it would be very costly. Pass it onto the customer if you can.

I make a semi-annual trek to my supplier and buy 100 deer forms at a time. The shipping cost is now $18 per copy. So, if I shut down my shop for a day ($600 in lost income), burn $150 in fuel to drive to Baton rouge, that means I made $1050 that day. The wear and tear on my vehicle, and me, are not factored in!

  10. I ordered 150.00 worth of stuff last week from mckenzie and only paid 8.00 for shipping.

I am very pleased with Archie Phillips dear forms. They are in the $43 dollar range and a good selection. Not the McKenzie selection but good. Sometimes have to go to Mckenzie. Can ship from Ala to me in Ok in surprisingly fast, two days and that is at around $35 shipping for two forms and other materials.

Your in Ohio, why the heck are you ordering from Mckenzie......Hilton Eppley Forms LLC in Coshocton Co. You could have bought 4 forms and liners for that price and way better quality in my opinion.

I order through McKenzie because they are in my state, WI. Then use SpeeDe delivery to help on cost of shipping. I get my orders in 2 days normally.

McKenzie is usually one day slower than Research Mannikins. Research Mannikins, here in Oregon, is 40 minutes from my house. So, Research is 2 to 3 days from placing the order and McKenzie is 3 to 4 days from placing the order, so, there is that.

I have used his forms, along with Brad and Bryans, since way back when he was at Buckeye Mannikins. I still use Buckeye forms once in awhile. Currently, I usually order online, since it's hard for me to make time to go and pick up the forms. Hilton, as far as I know, doesn't offer online ordering or a catalog, and Ohio Taxidermy Supply website is always screwed up.

I really don't know why people bother with on-line ordering. It takes longer for me to mess around with that, than picking up the phone and talking to a real person.

Every time one of these threads pop up it reminds me how lucky I am that i live 45 minutes from Fosters. That and I have a coon ass that hunts on my land that goes by Joe Coombes for me.

Just curious, is Archie Phillips supply company still in business? I have not heard any thing since he passed away.
