People actually still bounce checks? I thought they grew out of that phase after a certain age..... Oh, that's right, there's no money in the account but they still have checks left!

 

Nothing new - still same BS with checks as before from CUSTOMERS,
so CC or VENMO is the only way to GO for us anymore.
Fux_xing PAYPAL is worse yet,,, ​

Have a REPEAT customer and a "BUDDY" - supposedly for last 7 years - stiff me for 500 and yes I PAID Shipping as well BOB his BOBCAT RUG on top of that...

Never had a PROBLEM with CHECKS from ESTABLISHED TAXINET CROWD -- BUT ONLY ESTABLISHED ONES ...... HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY

In all my years of servicing electronics I only got three bad checks and only one I didn't collect on. It was for $7.86. The guy was in jail for what else...passing bad checks!

Sucks you got shafted Bob. I always paid you with a postal money order so you knew there wouldn't be any issues. By the way, you and only one other seller have I ever used anything but paypal and I don't use the other one any longer.

 

I've had 3 bad checks that i can remember. One of them was made good by going through the district attorney. Second one finally hit the bank at the right time. Third one never would go through the bank. The last time I called, a young black teller told me..."Suh, we ain't sposed to tell any particulars. but I will say dis"...it'll take a serious deposit befo yo check will slide through"! Found out later the guy committed suicide...he'd burned all his bridges.

 

What is the PayPal problem? Curious

 

Charges are becoming ridiculous , and buyer can claim BS accusations and get there money back .
I only take Venmo or cash , especially on final pick up .

 

Good to know that PayPal now has issues. I have used it for years with no problems but, as time passes, things change. I'll have to look at Venmo. Used to connect that with illegal drug deals and fencing stolen stuff that you didn't want traced back to you. Maybe it's more secure than PayPal and the payments can't be tampered with once made.

 

PayPal isn't owned by eBay anymore. Sold like 2 years ago to a private person

 

My son told me that paypal is now Russian owned (I haven't verified this myself). He paid for something via paypal and the credit union called him to see if the charge was legit before they paid it.

 

I usually as a policy try to use as close to cash as possible. I hate checks, try not to use them things. I have recently been introduced to Venmo because i have teenagers that constantly need a hand out even though they are working. Geez.

 

A lawyer once told me he had an elderly lady who was creating a will. She didn’t want any of her children to have access to their inheritance until they were mature. He ask what age she considered “ mature”. She replied…65!
