Do you get to shave the hide when using krowtann?

Yes sir. If you don't, you will have a hide like thick cardboard with no stretch at all.

So you shave it after the tan?

I actually shave mine before I neutralize when using Krowtann. To me, it seems easier to shave it thin then rather than after neutralizing. I feel like I get better results, but that's just me.

    Good tip. Will try that.

  8. This is what I do with one extra step, after the shaving I stick it back in the Krow for a couple days then neutralize. Not sure if it is beneficial or not, but I have peace of mind knowing it hasa good tan.

I have done that as well and the results have been the same as if I neutralize right after shaving. As long as the initial fleshing was good and clean, I dont think it makes a difference. But never hurts to be safe!
