Elephant Parts?

Discussion in 'The Taxidermy Industry' started by Tangerine, Mar 27, 2022.

  1. Hi all,

I inherited some elephant parts and was wondering if they're legal to sell in NY. The parts in question are a foot and some pieces of tanned skin. Any info would greatly help me out. I emailed the DEC and their literal response was "maybe?" and that's not helpful at all. Thanks!

As far as I know the only thing you cannot sell would be elephant ivory. Feet and skin should be fine. Lollie bros. taxidermy sales have sold mounted heads without real tusks in them. Cape was real skin.
