Get you a sheet of white cardboard or paper plate and play
Try a silver chrome base on upper half of paper
Try differnt variations of bright yellow
    Candy golden yellow
Yellow ochre paint but prefer powder
I think it’s called mallard yellow, I mix my own.
Play worth those colors you will be amazed
Do the same on the silver part as the white half
    Talking above lateral line
    You will be surprised
If you see another variant of the colors try it

You ask for Polytranspar paint so here is a list of paint from a book I have. You may come up with the back color using some of these. FP/WA 401-141-30-423-29-61-120-280-160. These were taken from a complete paint schedule so you will have to pick and choose to possibly get the color you are looking for. I might add that some of these are bleeders so they will blend well with other colors but overspray cannot be completely covered up.

Like whites and fish said on the bleeder colors. Not sure the numbers but if they are a transparent color they will bleed bad and can be a bitch to cover up if you don’t know how to use them.

I checked and the only bleeder in this schedule is the 280 intense red and may be one of the colors that will help to get that back color.

Are you doing a skin mount or a reproduction? Either way, you need to start with a white background. If it's a skin mount, no quantity of yellow and orange will cover the dark dried skin! The background color will affect the layering colors!
    If it's

I love doing these fish as it’s an easy paint job but hard to make look alive.
For me to keep it simple for you is this. I’ll use an off white color to fog fish out and blend in the artificial head
Then using inference gold I’ll go over the fish and I like transparent yellow oxide and with this color you can get light yellow to very amber color.
Your stripe starts with flesh then I’ll paint in oranges reds that will match the fish. Study the head as it’ll have slivers and golds in it. After it’s painted I’ll scale tip it in various metallic paints. 65681E22-7D90-4B1A-838F-C624B2B3A98C.jpeg

    Transpar Orange, anyone?

Try that with Yellow Ochre, Bright Yellow, and Warm Gold Pearl.

For those that dont know frank
He has won best in world
Beside that he is a actual master in fish
He judged a 32” silver salmon at surry NC many years ago
Hit me with no scale tipping on back side
    When had the review
He told me do you see those last three row of scales on the back?
Then it hit me, I didn’t do it.
He told me I had to find something and it was the dumbest screw up you could make.
    Very detail oriented
And always appreciated that honest review
    Super great guy

still can’t mount a fish see pic
