My first bird smaller than a quail and first budgie. I carve a half body kind of like a rug shell for it. Very bad pin feathers on the back of the head that came out when I inverted it. Resized_20210612_212925_144630722162221.jpeg

My third and final budgie. It had a lot of pin feathers on the nape, back and wings. It was a challenge to save them. Resized_20220312_144249_144754749114205.jpeg gie.

Just a breast mount of one of my spring turkeys. Artificial head by Research Mannikins. This is the view of him I had at first light through the 10 power binos at first light. Resized_20220618_180238_96806235695257.jpeg Resized_20220618_180446_96820239916241.jpeg

I had only done maybe a dozen or so open wing mounts on upland birds at that time. I experimented with doing the head conventionally. I tried doing Apoxy Sculpt eye rings and did not like the outcome of that. Resized_20220618_174134_96012785620090.jpeg
