I wanted to touch base with my local butcher shops before season that do whitetail deer processing for any capes they maybe able to snag for me.

Being new, what seems to be the going “fair” price to give? I have a number in mind but I wanted to make sure I wasn't way off base either way. What’s y’all’s experience? And also what size capes would benefit me more size wise then others? I don’t plan on buying a ton , but I’d imagine it’s good to have some on hand.

Most these will be Missouri deer .

    thanks for the help!

Anything’s over 20” at the ears 7 1/4 or better E/N measurements. Of course the bigger the better 7 3/4 x 24 will sell the fastest , that’s of course with perfect ears , no cuts or scars on cape and short Y cut . As far as cost from butcher $40 to $50 is probably good , you could sell any ware from $ 125 raw to $350 tanned again depending on size and condition. Hope that helps.

    As a thought 22-23 inch necks= $55, 23 to 24 1/2 inch =$75. over 25 $100.
