I bought a freeze dryer to do small taxidermy type pieces. Mostly mice and day old chicks is my thought. I did buy a book but it doesn’t talk about times. And it’s mostly about larger animals than I plan on doing.

How do you know when something is done? And do you put the eyes in before drying or after?

    any advice would be welcomed.

Eyes go in first. Need to get a good scale. Weigh when it goes in. When 2 cycles go by and no weight loss, done.

does the manufacturer offer classes ? if not why not ?

if they dont offer support to hell with them. you had to buy a book ? didnt the manufacturer give you a book, manual with the product. if not...to hell with them.

find one that does and send this one back.

I think on turkey heads the glass eyes go on top of the existing eyes without removing the eyeballs.
