Hey guys, up to this point i've just played around with skinning, fleshing and mounting birds and i've done a few euro mounts. i would like to do a shoulder mount on a buck i shot last year. After i cape it and turn the ears, lips and eye lids what do i do to the cape before i send it some where to get tanned? There just seems to be a gap in info on the web for this. Thanks

Salt it heavy, fold in half 2nd day shake salt out and resalt. 3rd day shake salt out hang skin over a 2x4 or such hide up hair under , to air dry . Then find your box ur shipping in and on the 4th day fold hide up to the size it will fit in box and set to side to air dry hard , you can send it a tad wet but that just adds weight . Got it ?
