I'm Very Impressed With Matuska Taxidermy Supply!

They have always done me good. They are somewhat limited on what supplies the have to sell, but I have always used them over other companies when I can.

 

Matuska is an excellent company

 

Great company to do business with. Never had an issue with them. Plus, they give you a piece of candy with each order!

 

Good people, good business, plus they carry Gary Zehners old mannequins

 

Unless you order a few hundred dollars in digital downloads from them yesterday with the caveat "Download links will be provided immediately after checkout". Day later and they still are not available.

You'll have to be quicker than that dad! I think the candy is kind of like their trademark! Occasionally they forget to include it but who cares. I ribbed them once about it when I called in an order so they made up for the missed piece by giving me two plus another for the order! Also...they don't rip you off on shipping. I can get two boxes of equal size and weight from Matuska than another supply house who shall remain nameless (and I live a hell of a lot further way) for less than one from the other supply house.

 

Research Mannikins and Matuska are my go to's. Headquarters and Joe Coombs are next in line. With those 4 companies, I can usually get something that is close to or exactly like McKenzie.

I placed an order for a turkey form from Joe Coombs. Research had a similar form, but I wanted to use an Anthony Eddy cast head and Research only sells Stephon Savides heads, whereas Joe has both.
I placed an order for wire and scalpel blades from Matuska, because the had what I need and the other two did not and for some reason that piece of candy is a selling point for me.

What I wanted to do was try Shanes new standing turkey form from McKenzie. And while I was there for that, get the heads and wire in one stop.

I would rather support the smaller companies and use a form that might not be as good as Shane's right out of the box. That shipping charge really makes me balk.

If I was operating as a business, things might be different, but I doubt it.

 

I've used matuska almost exclusively and the order usually shows up before the shipping confirmation. Great bird products too. Little short on materials at times tho

 

Matuska Taxidermy Supply, Research Mannikins, Headquarters Supply, Joe Coombs, and OTS when they have a headform or lifesize I can use. These are my 'go-to' suppliers, and have been for many years. Good supplies and forms, and good folks!

 

Also, I don't overlook Amazon. I bought formalin and glycerin from them for bird foot injecting, Apoxie Sculpt and some other odds and ends and free shipping!

 

have had great success with Matuska on there Wt manikin items highly recommended and doing less WT business with McKenzie great service still have to order McKenzie African ECT. as they have a monopoly on manikins for what I need !!!!!

 

I ordered wire, neck material, small foam base and scalpel blades one day. The next day, realized that I forgot to order glycerine. So, I ordered that the next day. I got the glycerin in the USPS in like 3 or 4 days and the rest they sent Fed Ex. It is due in next Wednesday. I have never had USPS beat Fed Ex in delivery speed. 2 boxes, 2 pieces of candy.
