Need Help Identifying Feather.

    Hello there!
    I need a hand with identifying this bird feather, found by the water, in sand dunes, Blaavand, Denmark!

    I want it identified for both future reference, and also so I know where to put it, in my collection of spare feathers!


    Edit to add; it’s migration season, and a lot of both European and American birds pass by at the moment, which makes it harder for birders here to recognize feathers, if they’re American ☺️

    You do not have wild turkeys in Denmark and American turkeys do not migrate. Are there possibly loose domestic turkeys in the area that are brown colored? Do you have any geese there that look like that? It is a wing feather and it came from a fairly large bird.

    They have what is now considered wild turkeys in Danmark. They have turkey farms with tens of thousands of birds. The "wild" ones are believed to have come from these farms in the past. My wife and I would often walk the forest trails near Saesing and we'd see them from time to time.

    that looks more like an owl feather to me. bird of prey of some sort.

    I took apprenticeship in Danmark in the early seventies. We mounted a lot of owls (legally). I believe this is an owl feather. Could you show a pic of the reverse side?

    I've not been here for a long time so I'm rather late with this, but this is a wing feather of a young Crested Seriema. Not what you would expect in Denmark at all, they are native to South America. They are sometimes kept in zoos and private collections in Europe, which is where this feather must come from.
