   Is pickling the best method for setting hair and plumping the skin before shaving? I do most of my own tanning and I am looking at alternative methods to the brush on tans.

   Salt drying aids in setting the hair. In order for a pickle to help you need to use alum sulfate in it.
   In reality the skin gets no plumper than your hydrated skin. It just looks that way cause it turns white and the skin is way easier to shave from the pickle.
