UPDATE: I finally was able to talk to a human after almost 40 minute hold. They shipped from 2 separate locations which makes zero sense to me why I should have to pay double shipping? Anyway, they refunded (actually they credited my account) for the shipping from N Carolina and I had them put a permanent not on my account to only ship from TX location. I still think they have a very poor process for ordering, shipping procedures, and definitely in regards to customer service. I will be very leery in the future.

Why is it that they do not return emails or phone calls? And no dedicated Customer service #? just a tech support option. They recently shorted me 1/2 my order of paints and charged me $56 bucks to ship a 2# box. It is to the point where I am going to contact my credit card and file a fraudulent complaint against them. It is sad to see how pathetic Mckenzie supply has become - it didn't used to be this way.

And now I've been on hold - called the order #, for 20+ minutes. Is this the norm with them?

As a lean six sigma black belt I could really help them get their supply chain fiasco more efficient - it screams of neglect

You should leave them a bad Google review and order from Amazon next time.

I have no interest in causing harm - I just hope they make the effort to get their process down to actually HELP taxidermist rather than hinder. I do wish there was more competition - was actually thinking about getting back into taxidermy but not sure I want to deal with silliness at my age .... that and I fully remember long nights, sore back, and little pay.... Kind of like trapping :)

Try ordering online. Pretty simple and convenient. That "little Pay" , that's your fault. Charge enough to make money.

Being charged twice to ship from two locations is hardly my fault, its piss poor inventory management (paints coming from 2 locations is hardly a wise practice). As far as charging folks enough, please reserve your comments until you actually know what you are talking about and in this case you are clueless. I am mounting some fish for my grandkids. Finally, I did order on-line so once again, silence is better than to prove to the world you have no idea what you are talking about.

Ordered from them the other day.Not to bad of a wait on the phone/shipping cost was actually reasonable/and I got product quicker than orders I had placed before I ordered from them.Just a roll of the dice I guess!

  11. I live 20 miles from their PA distribution center. I pick up my orders if they don’t have it there, thy ship it at their expense.

I placed an order the other day. They had everything but 2 pr of bird eyes. Gonna ship from NC. Fine.

Next day got an email my eyes shipped. $25.95 to ship a 2” square piece of cardboard with 4 eyes on it. They could have put it in an envelope and mailed it with a stamp!

I called them. They made a mistake and said they’d credit my card for the shipping!!

I feel for you guys that get everything shipped to you from them. They are brutal.

I’m going to be ordering from other suppliers as much as I can. What I save in cheaper costs will offset the shipping. And nobody else has the TEMPORARY surcharge!!

It is pure BS on their part. On small orders, USPS FLAT RATE BOXES are FREE to get. They have a set shipping rate and can be shipped anywhere in the US with a huge weight limit.

They could be using this option on small orders ...

    :)

When I ordered a hen turkey body and glass eyes, from Research mannikins, they called me and said I chose an expensive shipper and they could send my package through USPS and save me a lot of money. They said it may take a day or two longer. I said heck ya! I meant to choose the USPS option, my bad. They were truly looking out for me. This wasn't the first time they did this for me.

I'm in the process of trying out the Matuska turkey body by Cory Coruthers. It is similar and with some modification, you can have a body close to Shane's without the heartache. You will also get a candy bar with your order. I was heavily modifying turkey bodies until I got this one from Matuska. This one would be easier to modify.

There have been people who made molds of Shanes bodies and make their own from it. I don't know if that would be considered copy write infringement since they are not selling the body by its self or not.
