Can’t Resist Sharing

  1. I wasn’t going to share this. I practice “if you don’t have anything good to say don’t say anything at all” but this isn’t acceptable.
I received this a few months back and can’t resist sharing this quick story. Hopefully some can benefit by avoiding this quality of work in the future.
I spoke to a tech from McKenzie who said they could attach a custom order male head to a replica I wanted which had a female on it. The replica arrived with the female head. I called and explained and they apologized and would send the requested form with the male head this time. This is what I received. Not to mention the overall quality, maxillary, pits, etc. A piece of epoxy on the female head and done!

I’m assuming that’s an attempt at a hook jaw but it would be closer related to a tooth IMO. In the end I lost time&shipping costs and left without the size form I wanted(It was shipped back!!!!). Lesson learned. I’ve recently learned how to cast heads and carve my own bodies.
I’d like to highly urge all beginners(and seasoned) taxis to also do the same. Save so much $$$ and quality. Prices, shipping, surcharges are old news here but this guy has had it! Compare prices on suppliers. Bigger isn’t better!

    Not good!

If you don't want to return it you could possibly re-work the head, jaw, etc using epoxie-skulpt. I do it with just about every fish head I receive.
