    Well, that's a bummer.
As crappy as a company as Mckenzie is becoming, I don't see his move as a wise one.

So is that it? Does Research make their own eyes, or did they contract through Tohicken?

Pretty soon there will be only a few true taxidermy suppliers left without being bought out
Another sad day but you gotta do what’s best for yourself. Best of luck

I just was talking to McKenzie about that , Antonio is going out of business as stated, so there will be no more Tohicken eyes , that said he didn’t sell to McKenzie. He is going there to start a new line of eye for them , with a different name , showing them how to do it . That’s what I was told.

McKenzie is at least moving taxidermists to get higher prices in their area where they “couldn’t get that price in their area”before. That’s progress in this business.

  7. Amen to that!...Taxidermists and suppliers are GOB all over America. The taxidermy trade at the retail and supplier level has been operating at under subsistence levels for decades. Smart taxidermists will have a once in a generation chance to raise prices and start getting paid what they are worth. $1000 deer head prices are coming....

Those $1,000.00 deer head are already here. Been here for a couple of years now , and more $. I personally know of 2 taxidermists that are at $1,500.00 now on their deer !

  9. Mckenzie owns Payer and Van Dyke eyes, and now that Tohickon is closed Mckenzie pretty much controls any glass eye sold in America. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. I talked with the buyer at Research yesterday and everything they get goes through Mckenzie.

  10. We quit doing deer 5 years ago, several of my customers were offering me $1000 then and we turned them down. One guy offered $1250 we did his :).

Good decision. Just go up to 1500.00 and let the client decide. You may luck out and not get any. I think that by fall of 2024 your deer mannikins will be $150.00 or higher plus shipping. I’ll bet a anchovie pizza that eyes prices will skyrocket.
