We Need Wingtips Back ...

    I dont know if anyone but a few will remember the GREAT WINGTIPS threads from Wingman ... I still look back at them once in a while but no pics anymore which sucks ... There are still enough GREAT taxidermist on this forum (BROOKE) that we could all pipe in with a few tips ... although many of my tips were learned from wingman tips .... Still be cool to post tips for new and old taxidermists alike ..I know I learned a lot from them still do ... Id like to see a few tips on blow drying faster , getting the down to fluff when your skin is clean ...
    How to use the wire wheel more efficiently and although we know how to wash birds we may have little tricks ... I use a shot of GAIN washing detergent , not for anything but the nice smell it leaves behind , works great on divers ... washes out of feathers easy ..
    Anyways just a thought ..sure wish MR wingman would come back and do some more tips but thats likely not gonna happen must be far to busy these days .. He is pretty GREAT ..

    I have seen some articles in the trade mags of Eugene mounting birds and he is awesome. I wish he would do videos.

    X2 on the wingtip’s. Many years ago wingman posted a lot of beautiful work. Always enjoyed his tutorials also

    His articles had a lot of tips that are unusual as he wrapped his bodies and had a unique was of doing the skull work.

    He's just on Facebook now. Still full-time, still consistently producing top quality mounts. I'm in a couple groups with him and he still will answer any questions and helps us novices out a ton. Like most people (besides me) he just doesn't have the time to be on multiple platforms. I avoided FB forever, but I will say that 99% of my business comes from there. It's a great (free) advertising platform. It took me a year or so but I finally figured out how to make my experience on there be pretty much nothing but Taxidermy, Bow hunting and dogs:). It's not for everyone and I get that. It was super frustrating for me at first, but now I can't deny that it's grown my business 100% and connected me with some of the greatest taxidermists in the world.

    I ain't forgot where I come from though;) and will continue to try and keep up these threads, even if it's just for the few of us still here.

    I can't seem to locate the wing tips in the tutorials. It used to be in a post pinned to the top. i don't see that now. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for the information about Wingman … Yeah I check out his website once in a while .. really like his poses , you can tell he hunts and has seen it in the field .. and yeah he has some different methods , kinda like Ben from AA Taxidermy mounts birds wet .. weird to me but works fine for him … Weird , because call me crazy but I swear they’re harder to dry on the body … but who knows …
    .. They must have gotten rid of the tips cus ,.. I looked and couldn’t find them , wish they’d at least bring them back in the archives or something … We do have a few great ones still here … like I said Brooke … your in the same group of great ones your info is as valuable to us as any of them … we love it when you give us tips ..
    Not to hi jack the thread … a little Public Service Announcement… you people really need to get off Facebook ... The guy that owns it is partially why America has been in hell for the last 2 years … Funded the actual fake ballots used to help ruin America 4 million bucks worth .. . Watch 2000 Mules and tell me different , it’s fact not some bs like they say …cus cell phone geo tracking is how we drop bombs it’s that good , the mules were tracked via Cell data .. … burns me up .. Not that I’ve ever been on that platform … And never will since I know he’s one of the big problems for America … Can’t support anything that helped to ruin my country so they can get wealthier and have it all their way .. sorry NO Thanks .. I like Capitalism and won’t tolerate Socialism or Communism .. it’s their pipe dream ..
