Tell ya what if you haven’t tried one of the Pet Blow dryers you’re missing out they really are better than a regular handheld IMO . Mine was great for 2 years .. But this past week it just decided to stop working .. I turn it on and the lighted switch lights up but nothing else no blower … So I’m pretty good at fixing stuff , haven’t tried yet so maybe I can fix it .. Meantime I had purchased the extended warranty and have submitted a claim so maybe I’ll have some favor and get that taken care of .. If you buy one of these they’re kinda a crap shoot , the first one I got only worked a few days and I sent it back for a replacement.. so Whatever you do , if you buy a pet dryer get the extended warranty if they have one .. Can’t believe it , I may have gotten pretty lucky for a change cus the warranty ends 5/7/23 .. it quit working on the May 3rd … and I filed the claim this morn .. I had trouble with the dial that adjusts the power of air flow for a few months but it went away on its own .. For the price I kinda figured with as much use as I will put on it , won’t last that long so I thought better and purchased the extended warranty that I normally wouldn’t .. glad I did ... the claim went smooth and good thing I saved the receipt cus you need it .. Save everything when you get the warranty in case you need it .. serial numbers and model .. they make you jump thru hoops .. looks like long as you have all that maybe they’ll take care of it we’ll find out in a day or so .. waiting on their decision.. Can’t say I’ll be too surprised if they try and screw me cus that’s the norm for me ..

I love mine. Think I paid $70 for it. It’s lasted longer that I expected.

Got .one like 7 years ago. Still going. The only thing is, the on-off switch went out about 2 years ago. So I took it apart and swapped it for the heat-no heat switch...wired the blow to be on all the time.. went to Harbor Freight and got this really awesome foot pedal that I can turn it on or off. I loved that so much I got the pedal for my flesher too. Best $15 ever spent on tools. Best $20 was a Harbor Freight cordless hpt glue gum but thats another story.
Here's a picture of my foot pedals. Hope this helps you out.

    Great minds think alike!
Yeah, if I had it to do all over again, I'd have the foot pedal on from the start. I can be blow drying a bird and then the phone rings or I need to reach for something or whatever, it makes a huge difference giving me the freedom to turn it off and on hands free. Would have saved the switch too, and the time I wasted rigging it to run full time.

That's exactly what I've been saying like forever! Just got a pet blower a couple months back and could believe the time difference. Worth the money and I'm very cheap frugal!

I have been using the same small shop vac for 15 years and still going. It may take a little longer but I never get in a hurry when mounting a bird.

Still haven't heard back on my claim ... Its pretty cut and dry quit working so replace it .... so I can go get a foot peddle for it thats a great idea , didn't know I could put one on it ... I took it apart Saturday and it has to be the motor , its blown ... cus theirs power to it and no fuses to blow .. switches all work just wont come alive ... The regular blow dryer i used for heat is 20 plus yrs old and works great but its not enough air flow for bigger birds like geese and Turkeys they'd take 8 hrs or more to dry I know cus its all I had for years ..I Hate blow drying takes forever and to me its wasted time .. but has to be done right ... used to have a neighbor kid help me dry birds made life much easier but Not anymore ... without my ADHD meds its so hard to sit there and blow dry without getting frustrated real fast making taxidermy tough all the way around ... no patience at all ..

8 hours drying a turkey with a blow dryer? That's a lot of hours! That's about 6 hours more than it took me to blow dry a turkey when I used a hair dryer. Of course I hand tumbled in cob grit until the down started to fluff and that was after an hour wrapped in fresh towels ever 15minutes.

You can put anything on this foot pedal. Plug the blower into it and turn the blower on. Plug the pedal into the wall. Step on the pedal to turn on blower, step on the pedal a second time to turn blower off.

I was using a Dremel with a tiny dental bit to do the nostril work on a competition piece for a widgeon. Start the bit then insert bit while running and then remove bit running then turn the Dremel off. Invariably I would always hit the edge of the nostrils entering and exiting with the running bit causing damage. With the foot pedal I would turn it on after it was in the nostril opening, do my grinding, then hit the pedal to turn it off before exiting. Problem solved!!

Probabaly didn’t take 8 hrs ..little exaggerated long time though compared to a pet dryer for sure

So far Id have to say dont waste your money on any Square trade warranty by Allstate..Been since the 6th and Ive heard nothing back ... It really sucks when these places make it almost impossible to talk to a real person ... but its par for the coarse for me .. Im betting they do nothing for me .. hope Im wrong but with my bad luck Im sure of it ... typical

Well , finally after getting to chat with the people at Square Trade .. They are sending me a check to cover a new blower .. It’s not enough to buy a new one but close .. they said they’ll pay me back for the costs over what I was given when I turn in the receipt.. Had to get after them of coarse cus they tried to weasel their way outta helping me cus I filed the claim day before it ended … just how it worked out ..for once I got lucky .. can’t believe it .. didn’t realize how much I missed the pet dryer till I’ve had to dry a couple geese with a hand dryer .. takes forever .. so can’t wait to get a new one .. Won’t need it for a while cus I’m outta birds for this season .. I think anyways .. so I guess the warranty is worth it ..

Got the new pet dryer Sat .. So much quieter than the one that went to the trash can and quit on me .. I definitely purchased the extended 2 yr warranty for 5 .00 ... cus they only last so long with lots of use , be a good idea for anyone purchasing a pet dryer to spend the 5.00 and get the extra 2 yrs of coverage cus mine crapped out in 2 yrs ..the manufacture warranty is only like 6 months ...
almost forgot .... You guys were right about the foot peddle , that thing is great and cheap 9.00 Amazon ... Thanks for the TIP ...
