Tricks For Sharp Turns In Deer Necks

    I just mounted a doe on a sharp upright manikin and had some issues figuring out where to put the extra cape that folded in the back. I wasn't able to pull it back smooth and still get it over the shoulder (wall pedestal). It has very long hair so it ended up looking fine but I can feel that the cape is creased on the back. Is there a trick to making it work? I would like to do a sharp turn soon and I've heard this is an issue. Thank you!

    When I know I need to add wrinkles, such as a sharp turn, I often sand off the wrinkles on the form and build them with clay, It allows you to stack them with a softer look. It doesn't hurt to use a form that is just a tad smaller than your measurements, like the next one down on the list of forms.

    my problem is more that I have too much rather than too little cape when I did the hard upright. In the deepest part of the sharp turn there's a lot of extra cape skin and I don't really know what to do with it. But the rest of the cape fit fine in the face, etc.

    Some of that can be taxied down and around to let the brisket be placed down between the front legs where it belongs. If the brisket colic (Not sure the true name for it) ever creeps up the lower neck this can be the answer. Work the extra skin around and then down and it will give you some needed skin there.
