Brooke tells her customers she wont take any birds in that are shot before Jan/Feb . . . so I thought that makes sense so I told my customers the same thing and all I got is a bunch of wining. Our seasons closed, there's no open water it's all froze, and I'd be a poacher! ;)

Brooke I "liked" that woodie drake in protest. The reality is I see that pose a little too often when I've completely wiffed a couple shots! We call that engaging the afterburner. Beautiful work as always.

It is true that prime specimens make the mount look great but its the exceptional talent Brooke shows in her work that brings out the best that the bird can be. I have seen many mounts where the bird was fully prime and the finished mount was horrible. Brooke's birds are right up there with the best, keep up the great work, you are an inspiration for the rest of us.

Thanks y'all for the kind words. Yes, being in the South definitely makes it easier to tell your customers not to bring first split birds. Since I only take 100, I get to be picky, and understand that not everyone can. Our weather is finally getting better so I'm not sure how many more I'm going to get to mount this season. All my guaranteed birds are done and these last few are all for one guy that dropped off late.

Awesome work as always Brooke. Do you double up your masking tape? It looks like it in the pictures. I bought the same tape you mentioned a few months ago and sometimes I have trouble getting it off. It holds really tight. Have you ever had that issue?
